Classic Spaghetti Bolognese

A hearty Italian pasta dish with a meaty sauce that's sure to please the whole family.
1. 8 ounces of dried of spaghetti
2. 1 pound of lean of ground beef
3. 1 medium, finely chopped of onion
4. 3 cloves, minced of garlic
5. 2 tablespoons of of tomato paste
6. 1 can (14 oz) of of crushed tomatoes
7. 2 medium, finely diced of carrots
8. 2 stalks, finely diced of celery
9. 1/2 cup of dry of red wine
10. 1/2 cup of of beef broth
11. 2 tablespoons of of olive oil
12. 1 teaspoon of of dried oregano
13. 1 teaspoon of of dried basil
14. 1 teaspoon of of salt
15. 1/2 teaspoon of freshly ground of black pepper
16. 1/4 cup of grated, for serving of parmesan cheese
1. Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
2. Add onions, carrots, and celery, and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
3. Add garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
4. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon.
5. Pour in red wine and simmer until reduced by half, about 3 minutes.
6. Stir in tomato paste, crushed tomatoes, beef broth, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper.
7. Reduce heat to low and simmer uncovered for 30-45 minutes, stirring occasionally.
8. Meanwhile, cook spaghetti according to package directions until al dente.
9. Drain pasta and serve topped with bolognese sauce and grated parmesan cheese.
