Mixed Berry Crumble

A warm, fruity dessert topped with a buttery, crisp topping. Perfect with ice cream!
1. 6 cups of fresh or frozen (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, blackberries) of mixed berries
2. 2 tablespoons of of cornstarch
3. 1/2 cup of of granulated sugar
4. 1 tablespoon of fresh of lemon juice
5. 1 teaspoon of pure of vanilla extract
6. 1 cup of of all-purpose flour
7. 1/2 cup of of old-fashioned oats
8. 1/2 cup of packed of brown sugar
9. 1/2 teaspoon of ground of cinnamon
10. 1/4 teaspoon of of salt
11. 1/2 cup (1 stick) of cold, cubed of unsalted butter
12. 1/4 cup of (optional) of sliced almonds
13. for serving of vanilla ice cream
1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
2. In a large bowl, gently toss berries with cornstarch, granulated sugar, lemon juice, and vanilla extract.
3. Transfer berry mixture to a 9x9 inch baking dish or 10-inch cast iron skillet.
4. In another bowl, combine flour, oats, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt.
5. Add cold cubed butter and use your fingers or a pastry cutter to work it into the dry ingredients until crumbly.
6. Stir in sliced almonds if using.
7. Sprinkle the crumble topping evenly over the berry mixture.
8. Bake for 35-40 minutes until the filling is bubbling and the topping is golden brown.
9. Let cool for 15 minutes before serving.
10. Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
