Homemade Pizza

Make your own delicious pizza from scratch with a crispy crust and your favorite toppings.
1. 3 cups of, plus more for dusting of all-purpose flour
2. 2 1/4 teaspoons (1 packet) of of instant yeast
3. 1 tablespoon of of sugar
4. 1 1/2 teaspoons of of salt
5. 1 1/4 cups of (110-115°F) of warm water
6. 2 tablespoons of, plus more for brushing of olive oil
7. 1 cup of of tomato sauce
8. 2 cups of shredded of mozzarella cheese
9. 1/4 cup of grated of parmesan cheese
10. such as pepperoni, mushrooms, bell peppers, onions, olives of toppings of choice
11. 1 teaspoon of of dried oregano
12. to taste (optional) of red pepper flakes
13. for garnish (optional) of fresh basil leaves
1. In a large bowl, combine flour, yeast, sugar, and salt.
2. Add warm water and olive oil, and stir until a dough forms.
3. Turn out onto a floured surface and knead for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.
4. Place dough in an oiled bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
5. Preheat oven to 475°F (245°C). If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven while preheating.
6. Punch down dough and divide in half (for two 12-inch pizzas) or keep whole (for one 16-inch pizza).
7. On a floured surface, roll or stretch the dough to desired size and thickness.
8. Transfer to a pizza pan or parchment paper.
9. Brush the edge of the dough with olive oil.
10. Spread tomato sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a small border for the crust.
11. Sprinkle with mozzarella cheese, then add your desired toppings.
12. Finish with parmesan cheese, dried oregano, and red pepper flakes if using.
13. Bake for 12-15 minutes until crust is golden and cheese is bubbly.
14. Remove from oven, garnish with fresh basil if desired, and let cool slightly before slicing.
